St. Pölten, 650 m2
Childcare center in St. Pölten with Slavic Motifs.
The aim of the project is to create a cultural daycare center that develops an attachment to the hometown for Slavic kids in Lower Austria.
Design should ease separation anxiety in children, provide a sense of belonging and comfort, bound people through traditions, help develop relations and introduce Slavic culture in Lower Austria.
The focus was to preserve the history of the existing building, keep the general layout and significant architectural elements as arches, stairs, wooden beams. Creating contemporary design with traditional Slavic elements should revive the wooden craft and promote the cultural heritage of the Slavic folks.
